Messianic rabbi throws down gauntlet to Israel's Sanhedrin
Members of Israel's newly reconstituted Sanhedrin were pretty pleased with themselves when they decided Jews who believe in Jesus will no longer be allowed to marry in Israel.
They weren't counting on last week's WND report stirring up the media in the Jewish State.
Now the religious body is trying to cover its replay of early church persecution, but this Messianic rabbi isn't about to let them get away with it.
He's got them between a rock and a hard place, and he's not letting go...
Netanyahu Under Police Investigation
Headlines in the Israeli news this week were not about Palestinian terror, impending global or regional war, or Iranian pronouncements of destruction of the Jewish state. Instead, media and public attention focused on criminal corruption charges against Prime Minister Netanyahu, and to a lesser degree, his wife.
After years of investigation, Israeli police have recommended the attorney general indict the prime minister in two separate matters of bribery and breach of trust. One set of charges accuses him of having received personal gifts illegally. The other set alleges he struck a deal with the owner of a leading Israel newspaper to tone down its criticism of his administration in exchange for reducing the circulation of a rival newspaper.
Internal political crises and media slurs have dogged Netanyahu for years. This is partly because the Israeli coalition system of government can readily lend itself to both real and "fake" (media manufactured) corruption. Recall that not too long ago, former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and former President Katsav were both indicted, forced to leave office and sent to prison. We sensed the charges against them were in fact true and that God wanted to replace them.
With heavy hearts, we still believe that God raised up Netanyahu and placed him in office. By his leadership since 2009, Israel stands today in a better position with respect to security, international diplomacy, financial prosperity, and in some ways spiritually, than any time in its modern existence. Netanyahu respects the Hebrew Scriptures. He is the only head of state to have quoted them to the UN General Assembly in recent years. This is not to say he is without sin, has not made serious mistakes, the charges against him are totally false, or that he should stay in office indefinitely.
In today's digital age, the media is probably as much the creator, as it is reporter, of the news. In both Israel and the US (as well as other nations), politicians and media machines are often at sharp odds. When a conservative political leader genuinely seeks his nation's welfare first, conflict is inevitable with secular, globalist oriented, liberal media. If that leader advocates traditional Judeo-Christian values, intense spiritual warfare can result. At the same time, the opportunity to govern should be regarded as a privilege and honor. When a leader's term of office is prolonged, this can subtly lead to a sense of entitlement on the part of the leader. Entitlement can sometimes cause the leader to feel (s)he is above---or should be above---the law. (Proverbs 16:2) Only God knows to what extent, if any, the prime minister has succumbed to this temptation. Only He knows the whole truth surrounding Mr. Netanyahu. It has been our prayer that God deal directly with the PM concerning any sin and the condition of his heart. We pray that any necessary chastisement would come from Him, Face to face, and not through the hands of men. This week, one specific way that I (Sandy) have been led to pray is that he be able to honestly declare, "See how my enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate me. Guard my life and rescue me, let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in You. May integrity and uprightness protect me because my hope is in You." (Psalm 25:19-21)
The prime minister's present political crisis seems far more likely than others in the past to result in criminal indictment. At this writing, we don't know for sure if God desires his tenure to continue. Even if the PM is not indicted or is proven innocent, great damage has been sustained by his coalition government. That damage may be irreparable and cost him his position. In any case, we feel Psalm 25:19-21 gives strategic direction for prayer. God wants Mr. Netanyahu to surrender fully to Him, that integrity might protect him. In addition, we suggest you pray and proclaim according to the points below (some of which are adapted from our friends at Intercessors for Israel):
1. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. (Proverbs 14:34) Pray the PM and other governors of Israel will humbly recognize and recommit to the high calling to govern the land where God chose to establish His name, in righteousness and integrity.
2. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it. (Jonah 3:9-10) ...God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. (James 4:6) Pray for a gift of repentance on the PM and other governors of Israel, that they might turn from any evil or corrupt ways and that God would mercifully forestall judgment on the nation.
3. We have escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare; the snare has been broken...Our help is in the name of the Lord. (Psalm124:7-8) Netanyahu and members of his coalition appear trapped (in different ways) in no-win situations where any response on their part could cause further harm. Pray for wisdom and the undoing of all demonic traps.
4. When evildoers advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. (Psalm 27:2) Pray God would protect Netanyahu's health physically, psychologically and spiritually from years of relentless personal attack. Pray he'd be protected him from bitterness or arrogance of heart toward his enemies.
5. Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence. (Psalm 27:12) Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from that noisy crowd of evildoers...They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, "Who will see them?" They plot injustice and say, "We have devised a perfect plan!" Surely the mind and heart of man are cunning. But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly they will be struck down. He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin...(Psalm 64:2,5-8) Pray that God will expose any fake news and hidden truth surrounding allegations against Netanyahu. Pray He will vindicate him quickly to the extent he is innocent.
6. Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.(Proverbs 15:22) Ask God to raise up at least one trusted counselor to encourage and exhort Netanyahu according to His Word.
7. May all who hate Zion be turned back in shame. (Psalm 129:5) May God arise, may His enemies be scattered; may His foes flee before Him. (Psalm 68:1) Due to the current political crisis, our government is distracted from other critical matters, especially issues of security and defense. May God protect His people during this vulnerable time. May He remember His covenant with Israel and deal with His enemies who seek to upend her promised restoration.
8. The Israelites did evil...they forgot the Lord their God...The anger of the Lord burned against Israel...But when they cried out to the Lord, He raised up for them a deliverer,... Caleb's younger brother, who saved them. (Judges 3:7-11, see also Judges 3:15, 4:3-4, 6:7-12, 28) Pray that a remnant in Israel will cry out to God, asking Him to raise up a leader who will act according to His purposes when Netanyahu's tenure is over.
9. He deposes kings and raises up others. (Daniel 2:21; see also Romans 13:1, John 19:11, Psalm 75:6-7, Daniel 4:17) But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. (Psalm 33:11-12) You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come. (Psalm 102:13) To everything there is a season... (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) Prayerfully proclaim that Netanyahu will remain in office for the full time God wants him there. Declare God's sovereign timing in the unfolding of this crisis and in end times events concerning Israel. Prayerfully affirm that satan will not succeed in his plans to upend God's purposes.
10. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will continually be in my mouth. Worship Him with thanksgiving in all circumstances. (Psalm 34:1, 1Thessalonians 5:18)

More Tension at the Temple Mount
NBC News reported online early this week that an attack on an Israeli security guard at Israel’s embassy in Amman, Jordan, could be an indication that more violence is coming.
The guard was attacked at Israel’s embassy in Jordan by a delivery worker who was then fatally shot by the guard. A second Jordanian man was apparently hit in the cross fire and later died of his injuries. Although the guard carries diplomatic immunity, Jordan officials declared they would not allow him to leave the country. It appears the attack on the guard was spurred by Israel’s installation of metal detectors at the Temple Mount.
Israel installed the devices after three West Bank terrorists, with the help of a fourth accomplice, smuggled guns into the sacred site in Jerusalem’s Old City and murdered two Israeli police officers. The heightened security measures touched off protests and violence that have resulted in the deaths of at least three Israelis and three Palestinians, with injuries to dozens more.
Reportedly spurred by the protests, a 19-year-old West Bank man climbed a barrier fence and entered the first house he came to in the Israeli community of Halamash. Once inside, he stabbed to death three adult members of a family gathered to celebrate the birth of a new baby. A fourth victim remains hospitalized.
Jordan manages religious activities at the Temple Mount, while Israel oversees security. There is widespread belief in the Islamic world that the increased security is part of an Israeli plan to slowly take over the site, which is considered sacred by Jews, Muslims and Christians.
The Jerusalem Post reported clashes and protests at a dozen locations in the West Bank region during the week, as well as several in Jerusalem and Nazareth. The paper also said that hundreds of Muslims took part in a “sit-in” in the Old City of Jerusalem to protest the increased security at the Mount.
Israel faced increasing pressure from neighboring Muslim nations and the United States to remove the metal detectors, according to The Times of Israel. Muslim worshipers protested the metal detectors at the holy site by refusing to go inside for prayer. Instead, they have crowded the entranceways, bowing for prayer outside the Temple Mount.
Israel removed the security devices on Tuesday, but Israeli media report that high-resolution cameras will instead be installed at the site over the next six months.
Also on Tuesday, Prime Minister Netanyahu successfully negotiated with Jordan’s King Hussein to allow the detained embassy guard, who had been involved in the shooting, to return to Israel.
Tensions remain high. A poll reported that 77 percent of Israelis say their leaders capitulated to foreign and Palestinian pressure. Fatah, the Palestinian Authority’s ruling party, called on Arabs to intensify pressure on Israel at the Temple Mount.
Palestinian Authority President Abbas froze all security coordination with Israel unless all security measures returned to those in place before July 14. He referred in part to remnants of metal railings and scaffolding used for the detectors at the site.
Protests continued despite removal of the metal detectors, and violence broke out again after Tuesday evening’s prayers. The Palestinian terror group Hamas declared victory over the removal, but also called for a “day of rage” to occur on Friday.
This morning, Israel removed the final vestiges of the added security measures. The Grand Mufti then called off the boycott of the Temple Mount and called for prayer services to be held at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, urging worshipers to pray there rather than at their local mosques. It remains to be seen if Hamas will rescind its call for rage on Friday.
When will the violence end? Will the violence end?
Is a week without violent confrontation in the Middle East too much to ask? Sometimes, I think many of us believe it is.
The fallout from the initial terrorist event a week ago in Jerusalem’s Old City is mounting, spreading and could lead to a result none of us wants to contemplate.
I think Israel reacted reasonably by installing metal detectors at the Temple Mount to protect its security force and Muslim worshippers. Palestinians and Muslims reacted to that with indignation, suspicion, riots, and – finally, more murders.
Eventually, when Yeshua (Jesus) returns in power and glory, He’ll usher in the final, lasting peace and the New Jerusalem promised to us in Revelation 21:2-5.
Until then, we must act with urgency to be sure that as many Jewish people as possible hear the Good News that the Prince of Peace is their Messiah.

Learn the Real-life Story of the ‘Missileman’
The 'computer salesman' who was really part of covert government ops Missile silo
In 1989, Wallace Clauson flew from Seattle to Philadelphia to help his son, John, build a fence around the house near Princeton, New Jersey.
That was the reason he gave John, anyway. As it turned out, Wallace was about to make a stunning admission that would turn his son's world upside down.
After John picked his father up from the airport, they drove north on Interstate 95 through Philadelphia. As they passed the Broad Street exit, Wallace launched into a story about a YMCA, located just down Broad Street, where 10 men once sat in the basement and decided which nuclear weapons the United States would use. These 10 men had designed the weaponry system America used during the Cold War.
Then Wallace dropped a bombshell: He was one of those 10 men.
"I just about drove off the highway," John Clauson recalled during a recent appearance on "The Hagmann & Hagmann Report." "That was the first inkling he had ever given me that he was something different than what I thought he was."
John had always thought his father was an IBM computer salesman. However, that was just a cover Wallace had used for more than 40 years. His real job was with IBM's covert Federal Systems Group, where he took his orders from the Defense Department.
He was one of the genius mathematicians behind the most important developments in Cold War-era military technology. It was his job to ensure America's arsenal of nuclear missiles hit their targets if they were ever fired.
As co-host Douglas Hagmann put it: "To the world, he was an IBM salesman, to his family he was a loving father, a husband, a great provider, but to the United States government, to his country, he was a top-secret weapon."
Over the next three days, Wallace finally told his son the story he had kept hidden all his life. He knew he didn't have much time; he would die of cancer only 19 months later. However, John sat on his father's story for 15 years. He had three kids of his own – they were ages nine, seven and five at the time of Wallace's death. He held a management position with a medical device manufacturer, which required him to commute from New Jersey to Michigan or Ohio on a regular basis. He didn't feel he had the time to research his dad's secret life.
But years later, when his kids had moved out and he had taken himself off the corporate ladder, John vowed to do everything in his power to discover his father's life. He now tells that story in his brand new book "Missileman: The Secret Life of Cold War Engineer Wallace Clauson."
It seemed clear to him that his father wanted him to tell his story.
"He left me a stack of 90 business cards that were attached to the bottom of his workbench," John said. "And every card – we've had them reviewed by top physicists down in the L.A. area – every one of the cards [was] from a subcontractor for the Cold War. ... Since I had those cards, it was like him telling me, 'You're never going to forget what I told you.' And that kind of drove me to research all those cards and piece it together."
The things John learned from and about his dad were incredible. His father's two closest mentors were Albert Einstein and John von Neumann, one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century. In fact, von Neumann and Wallace ended up designing the IBM 701 computer together.
John learned why World War II, from the U.S.' perspective, was all about building the atomic bomb. He learned that the U.S. came dangerously close to nuclear war in 1983 during the Able Archer exercise with NATO. He learned why his father hurriedly moved the family to Switzerland in 1970 in the midst of one particularly tense standoff with the Soviet Union in the Middle East. He learned the house his family had lived in while in Switzerland had a secret tunnel hidden behind a metal door in the basement that led to an underground meeting room.
John discovered why his dad always parked his car in the driveway instead of the garage – it always had to be watched to ensure the family's safety. What's more, John found out why Wallace always backed his car into the driveway – he wanted to ensure a quick getaway if necessary.
Wallace had always told John his car didn't have a radio because he didn’t like the way they were designed. But years later, he admitted he removed his car's radio so an enemy couldn't bug it and track him.
The story of how Wallace became a government mathematician is incredible in itself. He was involved in a horrible auto accident at the age of 11; his family expected him to die. But Wallace didn't die. On the contrary, he emerged from the accident as a theoretical savant – a beneficiary of the rare condition known as acquired savant syndrome.
By the time Wallace was a high-school senior in rural Iowa, he was correcting astrophysics textbooks. One textbook publisher mentioned his name to the National Academy of Sciences when NAS was scouring the country looking for intelligent people to recruit as government scientists. The NAS came out to give Wallace a test; the young man thought it was a college admittance exam.
"He looked at the question," John recounted. "The two gentleman went to the restroom to excuse themselves and came back, like, 90 seconds later. My dad had not only corrected it, but he rewrote the question. He goes, 'This is too bulky, you shouldn't write it that way.' And he took off, because he had to get permission to leave basketball practice."
Thus did Wallace Clauson get recruited to the National Defense Research Committee right out of high school.
In his research thus far, John has focused on the years 1939 to 1989. He told the Hagmanns he would like to teach in the future, so he plans to do more in-depth research on the Cold War on a decade-by-decade basis.
"Will I do more research on this? Absolutely,” he declared. “Because one thing I found out – digging deep, I can be pretty persistent in connecting the dots."

Temple Mount Prayer Alert!
This morning, we received this prayer alert from our dear friend, Sandra Teplinsky, with Light of Zion Ministries. Please read Sandra's prayer points and pray with us for Israel!
Temple Mount Crisis is Escalating as Tisha b'Av Approaches: How to Pray
Earlier this week and just five days before Tisha b'Av, Palestinians issued what could be interpreted as new declarations of war over Israel and the Temple Mount. While Palestinian rhetoric on the topic is nothing new, recent statements have escalated the longstanding controversy into what could be a whole new level. In any case, the current crisis, which began July 14, is not likely to end any time soon. (A timeline of events is accessible at http://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-Conflict/Timeline-of-Temple-Mount-terror-and-tensions-500314.) If you are not familiar with the strategic and prophetic significance of Tisha b'Av and the weeks preceding it, a brief description of this critical season can be read at http://lightofzion.org/biblical-feasts/today-starts-straits-hebrew-calendar-heres-navigate-season-holy-spirit/.)
To summarize the past two weeks' events, on July 14, three Palestinian terrorists came down from the Temple Mount and killed two Israeli police officers. In response, and as a security measure to prevent similar attacks, Israel installed metal detectors at the entrance to the Temple Mount. These were the same sort of airport metal detectors through which all Jewish and non-Jewish visitors to the Western Wall must pass. Palestinians said the metal detectors amounted to an illegal Israeli takeover of the Temple Mount. They retaliated by calling for a "Day of Rage" last Friday. There were riots and acts of murderous terror against innocent Israeli civilians. Palestinians successfully encouraged anti-Israel protests in many nations and rallied their cause across the Muslim world, particularly Turkey. PA President Abbas's Fatah Party announced the "campaign for Jerusalem has effectively begun, and will not stop until a Palestinian victory and the release of the holy sites from Israeli occupation." https://www.wsj.com/articles/why-israel-removed-the-metal-detectors-1501022738 (Interestingly, the crisis developed on the heels of a heated protest by many Jews living in the nations against the Netanyahu administration for denying them the right to pray audibly and publicly at the Western Wall in styles not authorized by ultra-Orthodox Israeli rabbis.)
Reportedly, Jared Kushner brokered a resolution of the crisis between Israel and Jordan, which technically maintains quasi-jurisdiction over the Temple Mount. Acquiescing to Jordan's demands, Israel removed the metal detectors. Jordan released a detained Israeli embassy guard as Abbas instructed East Jerusalem Palestinians, "Jerusalem is ours and it is our capital. What you are doing [through violence and terror] is correct and we supported and will support all that you did and are doing." (https://www.palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=21631)
Hamas in Gaza then joined Abbas' Fatah leadership in calling for another Day of Rage this Friday in Israel and around the world. Days of Rage typically result in not one, but several days or more of murderous terror and violent protest. Meanwhile, according to this week's survey, 77 percent of Israelis disagree with PM Netanyhu's decision to remove the metal detectors. Some conservative Israeli government leaders say they will now call for a vote of no confidence against him, which would again threaten his tenure as Prime Minister.
Friday in Israel, the declared Day of Rage, will begin Thursday evening and night in the Americas. So today we are releasing a call, not for Christian rage, but for prayer for a "day of the vengeance of our God" (Isaiah 34:8; 61:2). This is not to seek a release of God's wrath, but His holy justice. The phrase "day of the vengeance of our God" is included in the broader, messianic Jubilee proclamation of Isaiah 61:1-11: "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion. ..." Here are 10 key points to consider as you pray:
- The Lord spoke to intercessors in Jerusalem many months ago that 2017 would bring a new level of shakings to the Temple Mount. However situations would unfold, we were to know He is in control. We are to boldly pray His sovereign purposes into the shakings, confident that with prayer, His plans will not be thwarted. (Job 42:2, Proverbs 21:30-31, Isaiah 8:10)
- Proclaim and release Psalm 2 into the crisis.
- Prayerfully declare God's sovereignty over the Temple Mount: According to 1 Kings 9:3, YHVH has put His Name on Mount Zion forever. His Name is supreme and sovereign on His holy hill. Because His Presence is in His Name, His Presence is there forever. Moreover, "the scepter of the wicked will not remain in the land allotted to the righteous..." (Psalm 125:3). Agree for the fiery scepter of the Lord to sever and overtake the less powerful scepters of the wicked contending for control over the Temple Mount.
- One prophetic prayer leader saw the hand of God coming down to pulverize the schemes of men concerning the Temple Mount. Prayerfully decree God's purpose in the Temple Mount shakings reflected in Isaiah 25:7, 8a, 11b, 12b: "On this mountain He [YHVH] will destroy the covering that enfolds all peoples, the veil that is spread over all nations; He will destroy death forever...The hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain...God will bring down their pride despite the plunder of their hands... down to the ground, to the very dust."
- Pray for angelic hosts to assist Israeli police forces posted at Temple Mount access points and throughout Jerusalem's Old City, especially on Friday (Thursday evening and night in the Americas). Pray these forces will be at the right place at the right time, with divine discernment, alertness and protection. "May all who hate Zion be turned back in shame." (Psalm 129:5) Pray for supernatural wisdom on police force leaders. Pray similarly for IDF reinforcements. (Psalm 91, 1 Timothy 2:2)
- Pray that Netanyahu will remain in office for as long as God wants him there. We do not sense his time is up yet, even if his decision to install the metal detectors, or remove them, or both, was perhaps unwise. Prayerfully decree that any unholy alliance between the Trump administration and Netanyahu be exposed, broken, and replaced by the alliance God intends for the mutual blessing of these covenant nations. Prayerfully decree Psalm 75:6-7 over Netanyahu, that only God, not man, will remove him from office and only at the right time (Daniel 2:21)
- Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, that plans of darkness would fail and the enemies of God would be caught in their own traps. Pray for mercy so injuries and deaths on all sides will be minimal or nonexistent. (Psalm 122; 141:10)
- Pray for the convicting deterrence of the Holy Spirit to fall supernaturally on Muslims readying to riot. Pray for supernatural revelations of Jesus that lead to salvation and worship of the God of Israel. (Matthew 5:44)
- One purpose of the current shakings is for spiritual harvest in Israel and the whole Middle East. Proclaim freedom throughout the land in this possible or actual Year of Jubilee, based on the 50th anniversary of Jerusalem's reunification. (Leviticus 25:10, Isaiah 61:1-11) Pray for Messianic Israelis to passionately embrace the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14 for the sake of revival. Bear in mind that some mainstream Jews are more open to repentance at Tisha b'Av than at other times; it is a day of mourning for past and present sin.
- Pray for your nation to align with God's purposes and people during this crisis. The matter has already reached the UN and Abbas has said he plans to file charges at the International Criminal Court. Temple Mount shakings are destined to impact all nations. God wants to give many nations that have stood against Israel an opportunity to repent and turn toward her. May this crisis work for the gracious blessing, and not cursing, of your nation! (Genesis 12:3)
Remember that despite the tragedies and trials of Tisha b'Av, God promises to redeem the day. "The fasts...of the...fifth month [Av] will become joyful and glad occasions and happy festivals for Judah." (Zechariah 8:19)

Expressions of the Heart
by Sharon Buss
Love and greetings from America's flooded Midwest! Philip and I started out Wednesday on our spring tour. Due to the road closures in Missouri all along our normal route, we had to head south to go across the Mississippi River another way. It added hours to our journey, and interestingly, once again we crossed the Mississippi in the region of the New Madrid fault. We crossed it in January and took time to pray there. Of course this time we prayed also. I didn't understand at the time why we would need to go this way again, until I read Gene's portion of this prayer letter, talking about how President Trump is trying to jumpstart the peace talks in the Middle East again. It will not be good for our nation if we push Israel into the so-called "two-state solution."
God promised Abraham in Genesis 12:3, "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee..." Throughout history we have seen that this also applies to Abraham's descendants through Isaac and Jacob. Even when God used Babylon to punish His people for their disobedience, Babylon was also destroyed. When President Bush pressured Ariel Sharon to move the Israeli settlers (who had built beautiful communities, farms and industry) out of the Gaza Strip, within 24 hours Hurricane Katrina was spawned off the coast of Africa. The same proportion of American residents of the Gulf Coast was displaced as the number of settlers who were removed from Gaza.
If we as a nation force the dividing of God's land, placing it under Muslim sovereignty (another god), the prophets have prophesied that our land will also be divided. I don't remember seeing such political and social division in our nation as we have now. I suspect that part of the reason for this is our State Department and succession of multiple presidents' involvement in pressing for a "two-state solution." Hitler also came up with an evil "solution," his "Final Solution" attacking the same people group--God's Chosen People. It was a disaster for six million Jews and others. It was the devil's plan. Germany lost over 69 million people in the war.
Please pray in tongues for God's purposes and timing to be accomplished, and that our president will not be a party to dividing God's Land.
"And there shall be floods and floods and floods…" Part 2: For those of you who receive this prayer letter by email, you may have already received your angel letter yesterday. For those who receive it by snail mail, you should be having it in the next one to three weeks.
Dear Intercessors for Israel:
Greetings from Jerusalem! This past week, Israel marked its 69th Independence Day. The theme of this year’s Independence Day ceremony was the liberation and unification of Jerusalem. Honorary torchbearers shared their own stories about the capital and their attachment to it. Their testimonies were then followed by the song “Jerusalem of Gold.” Then, dancers and military units marching in precision joined in the festivities. Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein delivered the first speech at the celebrations, proclaiming in accordance with the theme that “Jerusalem will remain the united capital of Israel forever and ever.”
Later, ordinary citizens took to the parks and forests to celebrate, holding barbecues and having picnics. It is a great day to rejoice in what only God could have brought about. Israel is a miracle nation, breathed into being by a miracle making God. This country declared its independence May 14th, 1948, but celebrates its holidays according to the dates on the Hebrew Calendar.
8.7 Million and Growing
Israel’s Bureau of statistics released an updated accounting of the nation. The current population stands at 8.7 million persons. This figure is almost eleven times Israel’s population of 800,000 when it was established. Only 6 percent of all the world’s Jewish citizens called Israel their home in 1948. Now, according to the Bureau, Israel is home to 43 percent of all those who identify as being Jewish in the world. God is bringing His people back.
Since last Independence Day, the country’s overall population, Jews and Non-Jews, has grown by 159,000. There were 174,000 births, 30,000 new immigrants and 44,000 deaths. In 1948, the “ingathering of the exiles” was a Zionist slogan. Today it is statistically a fact.
UNESCO, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, deliberately held a session on Israel’s Independence Day to pass a resolution denying Israel’s sovereignty over Jerusalem. This resolution called “Occupied Palestine” passed by a vote of 22 to 10. Twenty six nations abstained. The ten countries who opposed the measure were: the United States, Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Greece, Germany, Paraguay, Togo and Ukraine. Countries that supported the measure were: Russia, Sweden, Iran, South Africa, China, Brazil and Vietnam, as well as all of the Arab nations.
The resolution called on Israel to rescind any “legislative and administrative measures and actions” it has taken to “alter the character and status” of Jerusalem. It refers to Israel as the occupying power when discussing Jerusalem, indicating that it has no legal or historical ties to any part of the city. (Times of Israel 5/4/17)
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called UNESCO and its latest resolution: “The theater of the absurd.” Later the Israeli Prime Minister directed the Foreign Ministry to deduct another $1 million from the funds Israel annually pays to the UN in response to UNESCO's "delusional” vote to disavow Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem.“There is a price for harassment,” Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting. “I directed the director-general of the Foreign Ministry to deduct a further million dollars from the money Israel transfers to the UN.” (www.jpost.com 5/4/17)
P.A. President Abbas meets with President Trump
Donald Trump welcomed Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas to the White House last Wednesday for what he hoped would be "terrific" talks on relaunching the Middle East peace process. "Hopefully something terrific can come out between the Palestinians and Israel," the Republican president said as their meeting got underway in the Oval Office.
During a joint statement, both leaders voiced their optimism for reaching an agreement. Abbas stated that he believes the two-state solution is possible and he called upon Israel to "recognize the Palestinian state" and "end the occupation of Palestinian lands." Abbas affirmed that he is hopeful that the new US administration can broker a peace deal "based upon 67 borders." (These 1948 cease fire lines would include all of the Old City of Jerusalem and 2/3’s of Jerusalem).
President Trump declared himself confident in the chances of making peace in the Middle East. “We want to create peace between Israel and the Palestinians. We will get it done," Trump said. Abbas echoed the US leader's optimism, saying: "We can be true partners to you to bring about a historic peace under your stewardship."
Trump affirmed that he hopes to "start a process" for peace negotiations and said that he had spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about jump starting peace talks. Trump stated that when he took office he was told by many that achieving peace would be an impossible task. "Let's prove them wrong," Trump said. (www.i24news 5/4/17)
The Promises of God are Yea and Amen
The LORD God promised King David in II Chr. 17:9 “I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them anymore.” There are many other Biblical promises made by the Lord which also affirm Israel’s right to live in its homeland. The LORD through the Prophet Amos declares that “I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them” (Amos. 9:15). Malachi declares “Your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel” (Mal. 1:5).
President Trump to Visit Israel
White House Officials confirmed this week that President Trump will visit Israel, May 22 and 23rd. This official visit will take place the day before “Jerusalem Day”, marking this city’s 50th year of celebrating its unification. Sources also claim that Trump will make his first speech at Masada, a mountain top stronghold where the Jewish Zealots lost to Rome in 73 A.D. Today the mountain is a symbol of freedom to all of Israel, that “never again will it fall.” It speaks of a determination and courage of a people to be free in their own land. Many think that President Trump at this time will then announce his intentions to move the U.S. Embassy back to Jerusalem.
Decades ago Israel established one of its largest hospitals in the North, just six miles from the Lebanese border. This 772 bed facility once treated IDF soldiers and civilians wounded in Israel’s conflicts. Then in 2013, the hospital in Nahariya mission was expanded to take in those who were wounded in Syria’s ongoing turmoil. Since then, it has treated some 1600 Syrians, giving them advanced medical care and becoming a world leader in treating war wounds. Children make up about 1/5 of all the patients treated. Some of these children arrive without parents, with limbs missing, shattered faces, and in great pain. Others arrive unconscious and don’t know where they are until they wake up. Then they realize they are in Israel. They remain fearful until they hear Arabic spoken to them by the staff, who have all taken courses in Arabic. The hospital’s Doctors and staff have found that using a familiar language with these patients is one of the first things they can do to build trust, and quiet fearful hearts.
The average stay of these patients in Israel is 23 days, until they return to Syria. When asked if they had a message to deliver to the world, those who were wounded all had the same request. They said “the whole world is looking at Syria and doing nothing. There’s nobody to help us but God and Israel. May all of the nations of the world intervene and end this war” (www.haaretz.com, R. Linder-Ganz 5/4/2017). Israel is making friends of those who once looked to it as an enemy. Jesus said “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God” (Mt. 5:9). Pray for those patients who are being treated in this hospital. Pray that they know the love of Yeshua and learn to love those they hated. Pray for peace to come to Syria and that this senseless war cease.
FIRST NATIONS REQUEST
“I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart.” Jeremiah 24:7
Pray for the First Nations people. That they would rise up against all odds and come into their revivalist callings.
The 2017 Dream Tour of Israel
Have you been musing for years about going to Israel?
It's time to stop procrastinating by reciting that old line about "next year in Jerusalem."
Haven't you been saying that for too many years?
In 2017, it's time to say: "This year in Jerusalem."
Let me tell you why:
- June 7, 2017, will be the 50th anniversary of Israel's retaking of its capital city of Jerusalem.
- Nov. 29, 2017, is the 70th anniversary of the U.N.'s approval of the plan that returned Israel to statehood after a dispersion that lasted nearly 1,900 years.
- Nov. 2, 2017, will be the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Balfour Declaration of the United Kingdom's pledge to seek the reformation of the Jewish state in the region of Palestine.
In other words, 2017 is a very special year for Israel, wouldn't you say? Wouldn't it be a great year to visit? Of course, it would be. You should be a part of this history.
That's why I'd like to invite you to come with me and my wife, Elizabeth, this November to celebrate with the people of Israel, to see this land where Jesus, the prophets and King David walked and for the chance to meet, see and hear, in person, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and David Friedman, the new U.S. ambassador to Israel.
Ambassador David M. Friedman If you come with us, you'll be in Israel on the very day the country is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. So naturally, we'd like you to make your decision to join us by May 2, Israel's Independence Day, or, at the very latest, June 7, the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Israel's eternal capital.
While our WND Israel Tours are annual adventures, I feel more excitement about this one than all the previous visits.
The coinciding anniversaries are just part of the excitement. This year also marks a major breakthrough in U.S.-Israeli relations with the new leadership in the White House. And those who come with us to Israel are sure to hear about that from two men who understand it better than any others - Netanyahu and Friedman.
Would this be the most fabulous year ever to go to Israel and experience all the sights and sounds and flavors of the Jewish state and its people? Join Joseph and Elizabeth Farah on the spiritual tour of a lifetime.
Read Joseph Farah's latest book, "The Restitution of All Things: Israel, Christians and the End of the Age," for more on the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith to better understand the Coming Kingdom. Bring it on the trip and get it signed!
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Visiting Israel is a life-changing experience any time you visit. It will transform the way you understand the Bible and experience God. But this year is very, very special - especially when the theme of the tour is exploring the undeniable Hebrew foundation of the Christian faith.
What a year to see all the sites, walk the streets of Jerusalem, visit ancient synagogues where Jesus almost certainly taught, float in the Dead Sea, get baptized in the Jordan River and more.
This trip in November is designed as an eye-opening, life-transforming tour that will allow you to see your Bible studies in HD. Picture yourself journeying through the ancient streets of Jerusalem and praying at the Western Wall. See the bustling metropolis of Tel Aviv. Worship at the empty tomb.
So, I hope and pray to see you there. It will be an opportunity to make lifelong friends, to worship in the land God loves so much and the place from which Jesus will rule and reign for a thousand years in His Coming Kingdom.
I'm asking myself right now as I write this: Why do I even have to promote this tour? Could there possibly be anything more exciting to do in 2017 than to visit the land of Israel with those you love? If there is one thing every believer should do in his or her lifetime at least once, it is to visit Israel with people who love it and know it.
So how about talking about this over the dinner table tonight while you look over the itinerary on the WND Israel tour website?
Then, tomorrow morning, call our good friends at Coral Tours at 1-866-267-2511 with any questions you might have or register now with early-bird booking rates and make your plans.
So repeat after me: Not NEXT year in Jerusalem. THIS year in Jerusalem!

Stunning Prophetic Warning About New Saudi 'Mega-City'
For decades, Saudi petro-billionaires spent their money on expensive, showy luxury consumer items, but something has changed in recent years.
Now that money is buying political influence -- and politicians -- all over the world and, at home, the beginnings of a new "mega-city" meant to be a global spiritual, financial and political power.
Retrial for Jesus: New Campaign Launched in Israel
A Jewish Orthodox scholar is proposing an Old Testament ceremony, the redemption of the firstborn, to return Jesus of Nazareth to the Jewish fold and then hold a retrial at which he could be acquitted.
The first trial, two millennia ago, resulted in Jesus’ condemnation by the high priests for blasphemy, his crucifixion by the Roman conquerors and his resurrection through which Christians worldwide believe they can receive salvation and life eternal.
"The Power of Prayer"
Someone has said that if Christians really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless.
During WWII there was an adviser to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace.
There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate … Every evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central) (7:00 PM Mountain) (6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States and for a return to a Godly nation.
If you know anyone else who would like to participate, please pass this along. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.
Please forward this to your praying friends.
What the U.N. Says about Israel's Treatment of Women
It's called the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. As the name suggests, it's a body within the U.N. that meets annually and issues a series of reports on the rights and treatment of women around the world.
Last week, the commission released nine reports on various issues, but in only one of these was a specific nation singled out for criticism. Would you like to guess which country was denounced for its treatment of women?
New wave of Islamic immigration Planned for U.S.
Congress is considering new immigration laws that would flood the U.S. with “guest workers” from the Middle East and Asia, a plan some are calling an open invitation for jihadists to walk right through America’s front door.
Critics say lawmakers – including top Republican leaders – are playing with fire and could jeopardize national security with the proposals to double or even triple the number of H1B work visas.
Holy Altar Constructed for 3rd Jewish Temple
Announcement considered major step in Bible prophecy.
End-times prophecy watchers are marveling over a news report out of Jerusalem this week that the Altar of the Lord has been reconstructed by the Temple Institute.
The Institute, based in the Old City of Jerusalem, announced it has finished building an altar that is essentially “ready for use” in sacrificial services.

The pastor whose book "Blood Moons" explains the biblical links between cosmic phenomena such as eclipses and events on Earth, told a live, TV studio audience the current series of lunar alignments ending in 2015 is not a coincidence but a sign from God.
The next event in what is known as a "Blood Moons tetrad," a series of four blood moons occurring in 2014 and 2014 on biblical holy days, will be Oct. 8.
What will happen when the current string of blood moons runs its course? Perhaps nothing, Pastor Mark Biltz admits, but people nonetheless need to be watching and listening to God and get on His biblical calendar.

The Jewish return and Bibilical Prophecy
Scriptural Prophecy taken from a pamphlet by Operation Exodus
A ministry of Ebenezer Emergency Fund USA
One of the greatest miracles of all time is taking place today, yet many Christians do not know anything about it. God is bringing the Jewish people to Israel from all over the world, particularly the former Soviet Union - referred to in the Bible as 'the land of the north'. This re-gathering, called the aliyah (the Hebrew word means 'to go up' - to Jerusalem), is in fulfillment of numerous Old Testament prophecies. It is important for Christian believers to know these scriptures because they will enable us to understand God's purposes not only for the Jewish people, but also the times in which we live - the days preceding the return of the Messiah. Our prayer is that as you study the passages in this booklet, you will gain understanding of God's heart for the Jewish people and give you a desire to seek Him about what he wants you to do to help them return to the land of their forefathers.
Ezekiel 11:17: "Therefore say: 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again."
God's Warning to the Nations
Genesis 12:1-3: "The Lord had said to Abram, 'Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.'"
Psalm 121:4: "...indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."
Psalm 122:6: "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May those who love you be secure.'"
God's Judgement on Israel
Leviticus 26:15-15, 33: "'But if you will not listen o me and carry out ail these commands, and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant, ... I will scatter you among the nations and will draw out my sword and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste, and your cities will lie in ruins.'"
Deuteronomy 28:64: "Then the Lord will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods-gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known."
Isaiah 42:22, 24: "But this is a people plundered and looted, all of them trapped in pits or hidden away in prisons. They have become plunder, with no one to rescue them; they have been made loot, and no one to say, 'Send them back'... Who handed Jacob over to become loot, and Israel to the plunderers? Was it not the Lord, against who we have sinned? For they would not follow his ways; they did not obey his law."
Ezekiel 36:17-20: "Son of man, when the people of Israel were living in their own land, they defiled it by their conduct and their actions. Their conduct was like a woman's monthly uncleanness in my sight. So I poured out my wrath on them because they had shed blood in the land and because they had defiled it with their idols. I dispersed them among the nations, and they were scatted through the countries; I judged them according to their conduct and their actions. And wherever they went among the nations they profaned my holy name, for it was said of them, 'These are the Lord's people, and yet they had to leave his land.'"
God Will Bring His People Back and Restore Them
Exodus 6:2-4: "God also said to Moses, 'I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the Lord I did not make myself known to them. I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they lived as aliens.'"
Deuteronomy 30:1-4: "When all these blessing and curses I have set before you come upon you and you take them to heart whatever the Lord your god disperses you among the nations, and when you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today, then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where he scattered you. Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back."
Nehemia 1:8-9: "Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations, but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as the dwelling for my Name.'"
Psalm 105:8-11: "The nations will fear the name of the Lord, all the kings of the earth will revere your glory. For the Lord will rebuild Zion and appear in his glory."
Psalm 105:42-43: "He remembers his covenant forever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant. 'To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.'"
Psalm 107:1-3: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say this- those he redeemed from the hand of the fore, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north south."
Psalm 147:1-2: "Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel."
1st the Bloom Moon... Now This Sign in the Heavens
It's the first of three so-called Supermoons this summer.
And the discoverer of the blood moons phenomenon, Pastor Mark Biltz, author of "Blood Moons' and the inspiration for a documentary movie of the same name, sees a connection to the "signs in the sun, moon and stars' promised in the Bible.
This weekend's sky show will be strongest at 7 p.m. Eastern Saturday when the moon will be large and strangely luminous. It will also be just 222,611 miles away from Earth and in what is known as its perigee. Full moons vary in size because of the oval shape of its orbit and its elliptical path around Earth. When in perigee, the moon is around 50,000 km closer than when it is furthest away, or in apogee.
But an even better show is coming later this summer on Aug. 10 when the moon will be 863 miles closer than on Saturday, and will become full on the same hour as perigree and will appear at its brightest in 2014.
Unlike solar eclipses and other celestial treats, Supermoons occur every 13 months and 18 days. The last time a supermoon made headlines was in June last year, when it appeared to be 14 percent bigger and 30 per cent brighter.
The distance of the moon from Earth varies in its orbit because the orbit is elliptical. The average distance from Earth to the Moon is 238,900 miles. When you have a combination of a full moon that is also closer it is considered a Supermoon. Typically, it is said, this occurs about once a year. But this summer there will be three in a row – July 12, Aug. 10 and Sept. 9.
But, to appreciate what these astronomical signs mean from a biblical standpoint, Biltz says you must check the biblical calendar – sometimes referred to as the "Jewish calendar.'
"Amazingly, according to the biblical calendar months these fall in the month of Tammuz when Israel worshiped the golden calf, the month of Av, when the 10 spies brought the evil report and when the Temple was destroyed twice on the same day, and the month of Elul, which is the month of repentance,' says Biltz, who discovered the blood moon tetrad occurring in 2014 and 2015 coincides with Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles in those successive years. "There is also added significance as it precedes a Shemitah year, or the seventh year of the seven-year cycle beginning this Rosh Hashanah. Next year, it happens again!'
Biltz, of El Shaddai Ministries in Tacoma, Washington, points out that in Genesis, God said He created the sun and the moon for signals about coming events.
"Are we watching?' he asks.
God's Promise Happening Before Our Eyes
In the next few weeks, the Israeli cabinet is expected to approve a special plan aimed at encouraging Europe's Jews to immigrate to Israel.
The plan is a project of Israel's Ministry of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption. It would allocate a total of $29 million over the next two years to financial incentives and outreach efforts targeting Jews who are feeling less secure and considering relocation because of rising anti-Semitism and the economic downturn in Europe.
The goal is to persuade them to make Israel their destination of choice rather than other countries. The money required to execute the plan would come from funds already raised by the Jewish National Fund.
Aliyah is the word used to describe the immigration of genetically Jewish individuals and families to Israel from around the world. It's an ancient Hebrew word that refers to ascending or “going up” to Jerusalem.
This ongoing re-gathering to Israel is very much a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. God's Word says He will gather His People from the four corners of the earth and bring them back to Israel (Isaiah 11:12). He is fulfilling His promise right before our eyes.
Rebuilding God's Temple From the Inside Out
If the Jewish Temple is ever to be rebuilt in Jerusalem, the massive curtain - 66 feet high by 33 feet wide and 2 inches thick – that once hung in the Second Temple and was consumed by fire in A.D. 70, will need to be recreated.
That task is already underway in the Jewish community of Shiloh, located in biblical Samaria about 40 minutes north of Jerusalem, reports Israel Today.
US Supreme Court to Decide on Jerusalem's Status
The US Supreme Court Monday decided to hear the case of an American born in Jerusalem, once again taking up the sensitive issue of the status of the contested city, according to AFP.
The justices will hear arguments in the case in the fall before deciding on the constitutionality of a 2002 law that directs the State Department to give Israel as the county of birth in passports of Americans born in Jerusalem.
At the center of the struggle between the Congress and the presidency is Manachem Zivotofsky, who was born in Jerusalem in 2002 to two American parents. His passport says "born in Jerusalem" but his parents want Israel added to the place of birth, putting them at odds with the State Department.
Jerusalem is Israel's capital, but the international community repeatedly refuses to recognize it as such.
in 2002, president George W. Bush signed the bill declaring Israel as Jerusalemites' nationality into law, but he added a signed statement condemning it as unacceptable interference in the president's powers to conduct foreign policy.
In March 2012, the top court ruled that the Zivotofsky suit was legally admissible, without pronouncing on the underlying issue.
After the case was thrown out twice - most recently, in June - the Court will decide this time whether the president alone has the authority to say who Jerusalem belongs to, in the eyes of the United States.
The Obama administration argued at the hearing in November 2011 that to list Israel as the country of birth would be tantamount to recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the country.
Question: "How was the flood in the time of Noah just?"
The global flood of Noah's day was the direct judgment of a just God. The Bible says the flood wiped out "people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds"—everything that breathed air (Genesis 7:23). Some people today are offended by the flood story, saying it is proof of God's injustice, arbitrariness, or just plain meanness. They accuse the Bible of promoting a temperamental God who judges indiscriminately and say that only a bully would drown everyone, including children and all those innocent animals.
Such attacks on the character of God are nothing new. As long as there have been sinners in the world, there have been charges that God is unjust. Consider Adam's subtle shifting of blame. When asked about eating the forbidden fruit, Adam said, "The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit" (Genesis 3:12). That is, it was the woman's fault, and God's, since He made the woman. But blaming God did not mitigate Adam's sin. And calling God "unjust" for sending the flood will not lessen ours.
The flood of Noah's day has many counterparts in history. God judged the people of Canaan with a command to wipe them out (Deuteronomy 20:16–18). He similarly judged Sodom and Gomorrah, Nineveh (Nahum 1:14), and Tyre (Ezekiel 26:4). And the final judgment before the Great White Throne will result in all the wicked from all time being cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11–15). The plain message of the Bible is that God does judge sin, whether by an invading army, by fire and brimstone, or by a catastrophic global flood.
The flood was just because God commanded it (and God is just). "The LORD is upright . . . and there is no wickedness in him" (Psalm 92:15). "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of [God's] throne" (Psalm 89:14). God always does what is right. His decrees and judgments are always just. If He decreed that the whole world be flooded, then He was just in doing so, no matter what human skeptics say. It is not surprising that we tend to define justice in a way that will benefit ourselves.
The flood was just because mankind was evil. "The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time" (Genesis 6:5). We cannot fully imagine the extent of the wickedness of that day. We have never seen the like. The evil was "great," and every thought of everyone's heart wasonly evil continually. There was no goodness in the world; every person was wholly corrupted. There was nothing within them that was not evil. The people of Noah's day were not dabblers in sin; they had taken the plunge, and everything they did was an abomination.
The text provides some clues as to the extent of the evil before the flood. One problem was the rampant violence: "The earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence" (Genesis 6:11). The descendants of Cain, the first murderer, were abounding in bloodshed. Another evil among the antediluvians was occult sexuality. Genesis 6:1–4 mentions the Nephilim, "heroes of old, men of renown" who were the products of a union between fallen angels and human woman. The demons who participated in this sin are currently in "chains of darkness . . . reserved for judgment" (2 Peter 2:4). The people who participated—and the Nephilim themselves—were destroyed in the flood. The biblical description of pre-flood humanity is that they had become totally hardened and beyond repentance. Things were so bad that "the Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled" (Genesis 6:6).
But what about the children who drowned? The fact is that sin affects all of society, not just those who intentionally engage in evil. When a society promotes abortion, babies die as a result. When a father or mother begins taking meth, their children will suffer as a result. And, in the case of Noah's generation, when a culture gives itself over to violence and aberrant sexuality, the children suffered. Humanity brought the flood upon themselves and upon their own children.
The flood was just because all sin is a capital offense. "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). We should not be shocked that God swept away the world's population with the flood; we should be shocked that He hasn't done something similar to us! Sinners tend to have a light view of sin, but all sin is worthy of death. We take God's mercy for granted, as if we deserve it, but we complain about God's justice as if it's somehow unfair, as if we don't deserve it.
The flood was just because the Creator has the right to do as He pleases with His creation. As the potter can do whatever he wants with the clay on his wheel, so God has the right to do as He pleases with the work of His own hands. "The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths" (Psalm 135:6).
Here is the most amazing part of the flood story: "Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord" (Genesis 6:8). God's grace extended into His damaged, sin-stained creation and preserved one man and his family. In so doing, God preserved the whole human race through the godly line of Seth. And, in bringing the animals into the ark, God also preserved the rest of His creation. So, God's judgment was not a total annihilation; it was a reset.
As always, God's judgment in Noah's time was accompanied by grace. The Lord is a "compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished" (Exodus 34:6–7, emphasis added). God would rather the wicked repent and live (Ezekiel 18:23). God delayed judgment on the Amorites for four hundred years (Genesis 15:16). God would have spared Sodom for the sake of even ten righteous people dwelling there (Genesis 18:32). But, eventually, His judgment must fall.
It took Noah up to a hundred years to build the ark. We can assume that, if other people had wanted to board the ark and be saved, they could have done so. But that would have required faith. Once God shut the door, it was too late; they had lost their chance (Genesis 7:16). The point is that God never sends judgment without prior warning. As commentator Matthew Henry said, "None are punished by the justice of God, but those who hate to be reformed by the grace of God."
The global flood of Noah's day was a just punishment of sin. Those who say the flood was unjust probably don't like the idea of judgment to begin with. The story of Noah is a vivid reminder that, like it or not, there is another judgment coming: "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man" (Matthew 24:37). Are you ready, or will you be swept away?

Is More Terror Coming?
Fatah Calls For Renewed Terrorism Against Israel
A senior member of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction spoke at a televised ceremony in support of Abbas last Monday, where he declared Fatah is on the brink of leaving peace talks and returning to armed combat.
Terrorist "Martyrs" Families to Receive Millions of Dollars
The Palestinian Authority continues to financially support terrorism, and families of terrorists were set to receive a great deal of that financial support, as another $74 million from the PA budget was pledged to the families of 'martyrs' for the Palestinian Arab nationalist cause.
Choosing the Lesser of Two Evils
For months now, a vicious civil war has engulfed Syria on Israel's northeastern border—leaving countless Syrian civilian casualties in its wake. What is not widely understood is that this bloody conflict is essentially a war-by-proxy between Shiite Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia.
Iran has a reliable ally in Syrian President Bashar al-Assad—a member of Syria's "Alawite" Shia minority. Meanwhile, most of the numerous factions and militias fighting to overthrow the Assad regime arise from Syria's Sunni majority. Some are closely affiliated with Al Qaeda.
The Saudis would like to see Assad replaced by a Sunni majority government in Syria, thereby shifting the balance of power in the Middle East away from Iran.
While the Israeli government has officially been neutral in the conflict up to this point, security and defense officials there have been quietly hoping that Assad would remain in power—being the lesser of two evils. Israel believes it has a good understanding of the threats posed by Assad. A chaotic, fragmented Syria run by rival Sunni militias and Al Qaeda warlords would pose a very different set of problems for Israel's security.
Israel's preference has been to deal with the devil it knows in Assad. However, a recent opinion piece that appeared in The Times of Israel asserts that Assad, if victorious, may actually come to pose a great threat to Israel in the long run.
The piece was authored by Ely Karmon, a Senior Research Scholar at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism in Israel. In it, Karmon points out that sectarian conflict has attracted Shia fighters and militia brigades from all over the Middle East.
According to Western intelligence sources, roughly 10,000 foreign Shia fighters are currently operating in support of the Assad regime. Among these are several thousand elite Hezbollah fighters. These also include trained, battle-tested Shia military units from Iraq.
In addition to hardcore Hezbollah and Iraqi Shia fighters, there are several hundred foreign fighters from Shia communities in Bahrain, Yemen, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and even some from Azerbaijan.
This build up of zealous, militarized Shia fighters in Syria has coincided with a series of escalating attacks and incidents along Israel's border with Syria in the Golan Heights in recent weeks.
All of this means Israel may face serious security threats from the north no matter which side prevails in Syria's civil war.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has been holding "talks" this week, February 21st, 2014, with the PA's President Abbas in Paris. This news coming from the meeting is that Palestine's requirements for achieving peace with Israel have not changed. The PA is holding firm and demanding that 1) Jerusalem be divided, thus handling over 2/3's of the modern city to Palestine. 2) A future Palestinian state must be established on the 1967 borders. 3) All "Palestinian refugees" must be resettled in Israel, and 4) Israel will not be recognized as a Jewish State. These inflexible demands make it hard for the U.S. to find a breakthrough in the peace talks. Secretary of State Kerry though has resorted to pressuring Israel to yield, ignoring the fact that Palestine keeps increasing its demands, thus creating an ongoing "balagon" (Hebrew for big mess) in the ongoing peace talks.
Israel belongs to the Jews
In the midst of these carefully "crafted" negotiations, a verbal storm was set off this week in the Arab press because of pro-Israel remarks made by a Jordanian Sheik. Ahmed Aladoan, a member of Jordan's well known Adwan tribe posted to Facebook this week, that there is "no place as Palestine." He provided references from the Koran to back up his assertion. The Sheik reminded his fellow Muslims that the Koran clearly states that "Allah gave the Holy Land to the sons of Israel until the Day of Judgement (Surah Al-Ma'ida; v 21). A following Surah affirms this Muhammad's revelation by declaring that the land was bequeathed to the Jews (Surah Al-Shara'a, v 59).
The Sheik (a direct descendent of Muhammad) blasted those who have deliberately "distorted the words of the Koran" who he labeled as liars. He insisted that all Palestinian claims to the land of Israel were "forfeited" because "All is the protected of the Children of Israel." This leader also condemned the PA accusing the Palestinians of killing children, the elderly and women, using human shields and of not having mercy even for their own children. Sheik Ahmed also stated that he supports the idea that Jordan is Palestine, and insisted that Arabs who live in the Palestinian Authority controlled territories would almost all love to be Israeli citizens (www.israeltoday.co.il 2/20/2014).
Needless to say, the Arab world is aflame, at such remarks although the Sheik chose to fight "fire with fire" quoting directly from the Koran.

A Modern Messianic Hebrew bible from martin Sarvis Prayer Updated Jerusalem
For the first time, the ancient Masoretic text of the entire Hebrew Bible has been translated into modern Hebrew. The Messianic publishing company Hagefen (The Vine) finally completed the project, a painstaking effort that took over 20 years.
There are many reasons for the discrepancy between what people say they believe and what they do with their beliefs. But the Messianic Jews in Israel are working to bridge that gap with a new project aimed at getting people in the Land of the Bible to read their own book. (Israel Today Magazine, February 2014)
Please pray that God's written word, both in the Old Covenant (within which Messiah is concealed) and the New Covenant (In which He is revealed!) will become available to Israelis at all levels of society. That the Holy Spirit will illumine the new translations as they are read, releasing understanding which will "make wise for salvation through faith which is in Messiah Yeshua." That they will prove profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction for instruction in righteousness, that the [Israeli] men and women of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work!" (II Timothy 3:15-17). That Israeli children will through them become familiar with the Scriptures from an early age.
